The Department of Physical Therapy offers a professional program leading to a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree. The program prepares physical therapists to be self-directed, self-accountable generalists who can practice in a variety of settings. The PT Department also offers post-professional graduate studies leading to a Master of Science degree (see Health and Rehabilitation Sciences). This degree program enables physical therapists to receive advanced clinical skills training and increases their understanding of the theory of human movement and movement dysfunction, a foundation science of physical therapy.
