The graduate certificate program in Latin American studies offers students the opportunity to supplement training in their major field of concentration with a regional specialization. Students in the social sciences, humanities, and professional schools choose from 140 courses offered annually by more than 120 faculty members representing 18 departments and schools. By completing six courses that provide area competence on Latin America and the Caribbean, demonstrating proficiency in a language of the region, and submitting an interdisciplinary research paper, students can earn the graduate certificate in Latin American studies.
