The European Union Center of Excellence (EUCE) and the Center for Russian and East European Studies (CREES) offer an interdisciplinary certificate that complements graduate studies pursued in various departments of the Arts and Sciences or one of the professional schools. It is designed for students who wish to intensify their study of the European Union (EU) for use in their careers or because they realize the importance of an understanding of European integration as part of their education. The certificate requires proficiency in an official language of the EU or of an accession country, completion of 18 credits of EU related courses, an EU-focused research paper, a co-curricular activity and graduation with a graduate or professional school degree. The Centers’ lecture series, research groups, conferences, and graduate student symposia work in tandem with the activities of the European Studies Center to provide opportunities for intellectual enrichment and professional development. Fellowships and other forms of funding are available for outstanding students. You may enroll through either the European Union Center of Excellence or through the Center for Russian and East European Studies.
