The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering offers two sets of programs: one set leading to the degrees of Master of Science (MS) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Electrical Engineering; the second set, joint with the Department of Computer Science, leading to the degrees of Master of Science (MS) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Computer Engineering. Graduate studies and research are concentrated in the areas of bioengineering, CAD, computer architecture, control, electronics and optical devices, image processing/computer vision, power, nano technologies, RFID, signal processing/communications, and VLSI. There are also joint programs with the Department of Mathematics (MA Math, MSEE) and the Katz School of Business (MBA, MSEE). The Department has 36 faculty including 12 faculty from the School of Medicine, School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, the Department of Computer Science Administrators and the Telecommunications Program who have secondary appointments.
